A pooling of technical expertise for new supply chains in mechanical engineering

The organisers of FMB – The supplier show for mechanical engineering, which will be held for the eleventh time at Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Centre from 4 to 6 November 2015, have received the highest number of registrations to date. In addition to numerous large and medium-sized enterprises, both regional and sector-specific associations from Germany and overseas will be among the exhibitors at the show again this year. The members of the associations will be presenting themselves in a focused manner at joint stands.

„Koninklijke Metaalunie“ from the Netherlands already demonstrated the products and areas of expertise of its associated companies from the field of metalworking at FMB 2014. The „Center for Underleverandører, the Danish association of industrial component suppliers, will be represented for the second time this year, while the business and technology development company „Gesellschaft für Wirtschafts- und Technologieförderung Rostock“ is already something of a household name among the FMB exhibitors, which makes use of the event to establish new contacts.

The staff at the stand of Münster Chamber of Skilled Trades (Handwerkskammer Münster) and Osnabrück Business Development (Wirtschaftsförderung Osnabrück) will also be among the familiar faces at the show. For the first time this year, the member companies will be given the opportunity to showcase their products and services at a joint stand in association with the „MEMA“ network from Elmsland.

Christian Enßle, FMB Show Manager of Trade Show Organiser Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH: „FMB is a workshop-style trade show focusing on personal contact between the exhibitors and visitors. The opportunities to meet new cus-tomers or suppliers which are offered to smaller companies in particular are good. Joint stands provide an excellent platform in which to do this, while the visitors also benefit from the compact overview and the interaction of the participating companies.“

Representation at FMB is highly attractive for joint stands, both for companies and associations from abroad as well as those from the region since the exhibition site offers outstanding opportunities for doing business. There are only a few regions in Europe where there is such a high concentration of mechanical and plant engineering as in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL). Some 700 companies with around 100,000 members of staff achieve an annual turnover of approx. 20 billion euros here and cover the entire spectrum of the individual sectors – ranging from ma-chine tool manufacture to wood-processing and food processing through to the construction of special vehicles and agricultural machinery.

The spectrum covered by the exhibitors is correspondingly broad. They represent the entire value chain of the supply industry in the field of mechanical and plant engineering. Drive and control engineering are represented here just as much as assembly and handling technology, metal processing companies as well as qualified service providers, for instance in the field of product development.

Moreover, the new format FKT – User fair for plastics engineering will be occupying its own space for the first time in 2015 alongside the FMB show. The fair is directed specifically at manufacturers of plastic and rubber products in the region which are among the top three locations in Germany, particularly in the manufac-ture of automotive components as well as electronic and household appliances.

In addition to industrial associations, research initiatives are also represented at FMB. The leading-edge cluster „Intelligente Technische Systeme – it’s OWL“ will be showcasing some exemplary projects from current research activities in line with actual practice. The stand of Bosch Rexroth is also set up as a joint stand: The automation specialist will be joining forces with system partners such as Nölle & Nordhorn and PTS Automation to demonstrate practical examples of factory automation.

Clarion Events can trace its roots back to 1947 and takes great pride in being one of the oldest independent event organisers in the UK. More recently the firm has developed an international portfolio of brands and now has interests in a number of global vertical industries.
